PROGRAM: DataPlus for Sage 50 (US) - Server Installation
What you need prior to installation.
  1. MS SQL Server or MS SQL Express instance
    Note: The SQL instance will host the DataPlus SQL databases for Sage 50 (US).
    - SQL 2008 Microsoft Download
    - SQL 2005 Microsoft Download
    - Do not use the ACT! instance of SQL
  2. SQL Server Management Studio
  3. Understanding roles in SQL Server security

  4. Sage 50 (US) Accounting installed
  5. Sage 50 (US) Company database has been opened in Sage 50 (US).
  6. ACT! Prem 2012, 2011, 2010 (for DataPlus 3.0)
    - Installed on server or workstation
    - ACT! Database configured
    - Note: DataPlus ACT! database should be downloaded and restored.

What you need for installation.
  1. DataPlus for Sage 50 (US) installer (DataPlus-PT-Install.exe)
  2. Sage ACT! database for Sage 50 (US)
    Hogan Data provides a Sage ACT! database with the purchase of DataPlus for Sage 50 (US) Application

Where do you install DataPlus 3.0 for Sage 50 (US).
  1. Condition 1
    1. Two Server environment
      1. Server 1 Sage 50 (US)
        1. SQL Instance
          Note: SQL instance can reside on either server
          1. SQL Server Management Studio
        2. Install DataMirror
          Note: DataMirror has to be installed on same machine as Sage 50 (US) Client
        3. Configure DataMirror SQL connection

DataPlus for Sage 50 (US) Server Installation
    Welcome Screen
  1. Right click DataPlus-PT-Install.exe and "Run as administrator
  2. This will start the DataPlus 3.0 setup wizard.
  3. Click on Next >

  4. Edit using Notepad, DefaultMirrorData.xml

  1. Change .\SQLEXPRESS to your Server\sqlinstancename

    If needed

  4. Save and close

Note: If your sql install does not have an instance name then you should enter servername only.

  1. If Select Peachtree Company does not launch, Click on Select Peachtree Company
    Select a Sql Instance
  1. If you did not edit the DataMirror DefaultMirrorData.xml file, then "Select a Sql Instance appears.
  2. Select Instance
  3. Click on OK

Note: If your sql install does not have an instance name then it will not appear in list. Edit your DefaultMirrorData.xml file.

    Select Peachtree Company
  1. Ensure that you have first opened your Sage 50 (US) Company database

  2. Choose Company
  3. Click OK

  2. This file will check and see if "DataMirror for Peachtree Mirror" is running, if not start it.

    Check "Disable creation of ACT! Companies" if you do not want to import Companies in the "Company Level" in ACT!

    IMPORTANT:
  • If you are not using the ACT! database provided by Hogan Data, for Sage 50 (US), when the first import is performed, additional fields may be required. Therefore, uncheck "Disable Database Locking" in order for the additional fields to be created.
  • By default, if the "Sales Representative" in Sage 50 (US) equals the ACT! User Name in ACT!, the Sales Representative name will populate the "Sales Representative" field in ACT!, and will also be the ACT! "Record Manager". The names have to be an exact match.

  2. Create new file "Import-PT.bat"
  3. Right click on Import-PT.bat
  4. Click Edit
  5. Right click Paste

    IMPORTANT

  6. Change DataPlus-Import-Console.exe path to FULL PATH within Quotes(")
    "C:\Program Files\Hogan Data\DataPlus 3.0\DataPlus-Import-Console.exe"
  7. Change Logs path to FULL PATH within Quotes(")
    "C:\Program Files\Hogan Data\DataPlus 3.0\Logs\PT.log"
  8. Save file File/Save
  9. Open Microsoft Scheduler and schedule time to execute the "Import-PT.bat" file.

  8. You can double click the header or row to check or uncheck all

  Note:

    Green fields in ACT! are read only fields. Only ACT! Administrators have write access to fields. Therefore, if "Peachtree Push" is enabled, users other than Administrators can Edit contact, but they cannot create contact. In order for non-administrator users to create contacts, necessary fields must be available. For database integrity, we don't recommend this.
    Sales Representative Permissions

  1. Click Sales Representative
  2. Check Box for each sales representative for view permissions
  3. You can double click the header or row to check or uncheck all
  4. Click Save
  5. Click Close
  6. Click Yes
  7. Click OK

Note:

  • Most views have the "Sales Representative" from Sage 50 (Peachtree) listed. Each Sales Representative will only be able to see view where they are the Sales Representative.
  • You can also enable Sales Representative to see other Sales Representative information. Example, sales manager may need to view each Sales Representative's views on their team.
  • DataPlus Tab should be available for each DataPlus Client after "DataPlus Client Install".

Installation, configuration, and connection to your Sage 50 (US) application is complete.
