PROGRAM: DataPlus 3.0 for QuickBooks - Server Installation
What you need prior to installation.
  1. MS SQL Server or MS SQL Express instance
    - SQL 2008 Microsoft Download
    - SQL 2005 Microsoft Download
  2. SQL Server Management Studio
  3. QuickBooks Note: DataPlus for QuickBooks 3.0 must be installed on same SQL instance that QuickBooks is installed on.
  4. SQL security permissions
What you need for installation.
  1. DataPlus for QuickBooks
  2. FILE: DataPlus-QB-Install.exe
  3. This installer will install the necessary DataPlus SQL databases

DataPlus 3.0 Server & Client Installation
    User Account Control
  1. The following will create a DataPlus SQL database in SQL instance
  2. Insure that proper permissions have been given in SQL
  3. Right click 'DataPlus-QB-Install.exe' and "Run as administrator"
  4. Click on Yes

  1. The following will create a DataPlus SQL database in SQL instance

  3. Right click 'DataPlus-QB-Install.exe' and "Run as administrator"
  4. Click on Next >
    License Agreement
  1. If you agree, click on "I accept the terms in the license agreement"
  2. Click on Next >
    Choose Components
  1. Check 'Server Components'
  2. Click on Next >
    Choose Location
  1. Choose the folder in which to install DataPlus 3.0
  2. Click on Install

  2. Click on Start/All Programs/Hogan Data/dpQuickBooks/QuickBooks Remote
  3. QuickBooks Remote Started
    Open Status Window
  1. Right click dp icon on task bar
  2. Choose dp icon on task bar
  3. Click on Open Status Window
    QB Application With No Certificate
  1. Click on Yes, always; allow even if QuickBooks is not running
  2. Click on Continue...

  1. Right click "dp" icon on task bar and choose Open Status Window
  2. Click on Start Harvest
    Open Status Window
  1. Right click "dp" icon on task bar and choose Open Status Window
  2. Click on Window dialog box X to close Harvester

DataPlus Auto Import
    Create "Logs" folder
  1. In Windows, browse to:
    C:\Program Files\Hogan Data\DataPlus 3.0
    or
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Hogan Data\DataPlus 3.0
  2. Create Folder Logs
    Create "BAT" files
  1. Create Text document Import-QB.txt
  2. Change txt extension to bat
  3. Click Yes to allow change
    Configure DataPlus Auto Import
  1. Click on Start/All Programs/Hogan Data/DataPlus 3.0/DataPlus 3.0 Server Configuration
  2. Click on Configure Applications >>

  2. Click on "Import Options:" [ ... ]

  2. UnCheck Limited Notices
  3. UnCheck Ignore Warnings

  6. Click on 2 to change Server Timeout (minutes) if more time is needed to perform SQL connection

  7. UnCheck Disable creation of ACT! Contacts
  8. UnCheck Disable creation of ACT! Companies
  9. UnCheck Only import Primary Contacts
  10. UnCheck Create fields Only

    Advanced Options

  11. Check Limited Access if you are using Limited Access in your ACT! database
  12. Type User/Team in open dialog box for entities to have access to imported contacts

    Import Selection

  13. UnCheck Only Run Selected Items

  14. Click Okay

  3. Click on Generate Sample Import Command

  2. Right click on Import-QB.bat
  3. Click Edit
  4. Right click Paste

    IMPORTANT

  5. Change DataPlus-Import-Console.exe path to FULL PATH within Quotes(")
    "C:\Program Files\Hogan Data\DataPlus 3.0\DataPlus-Import-Console.exe"
  6. Change Logs path to FULL PATH within Quotes(")
    "C:\Program Files\Hogan Data\DataPlus 3.0\Logs\QB.log"
  7. Save file File/Save
  8. Open Microsoft Scheduler and schedule time to execute the "Import-QB.bat" file.

Auto QuickBooks Harvester
    Schedule Harvester Console
    Full Import
  1. Open Microsoft Scheduler and schedule time to execute the "dpQuickBooks-Harvester-Console.exe" file.

    Update Import

  2. In Windows, browse to:
    C:\Program Files\Hogan Data\DataPlus 3.0
    or
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Hogan Data\DataPlus 3.0
  3. Right click dpQuickBooks-Harvester-Console.exe Create shortcut
  4. Change name to dpQuickBooks-Harvester-ConsoleUpdate.exe
  5. Right click dpQuickBooks-Harvester-ConsoleUpdate.exe Properties
  6. Add space and /u at the end of "Target"
  7. Open Microsoft Scheduler and schedule time to execute the "dpQuickBooks-Harvester-ConsoleUpdate.exe" file.

Import QuickBooks Employees Only
    Manual Import Settings
  1. Open ACT
  2. Click on Menu Tools/DataPlus 3.0 Manual Import

  3. Click on Tab QB
  4. Click on [..] to configure settings

  1. Uncheck Limited Access if you earlier chose to use Limited Access
  2. Check Only Run Selected Items
  3. Check QB Employee Update
  4. Click Okay

  4. Double click Administrator header
  5. Double click Manager header
  6. Check View name under Standard
  7. Check View name under Restricted
  8. Check View name under Browse
    Note: Each checked view will enable ACT! user to view the menu item in DataPlus tab.
  9. Click on Tab Misc Permissions

  1. Check appropriate column for each ACT! User
  2. Export (export to excel)
  3. Report (Crystal Report)
  4. Manage (Ignore, leave unchecked)
  5. QuickBooks Push (Push ACT! contact to QuickBooks)
  6. QuickBooks Invoice Push (Create invoice in QuickBooks)
  7. View (view menu items in DataPlus tab)
  8. Click on Tab Misc Permissions

    Sales Representatives

  1. Check appropriate column for each ACT! User Note: This allows users to view menu items where User Name = QuickBooks Sales Representative
  2. Click Save
  3. Click OK
  4. Click Close
  5. Click Yes
  6. Click OK

  1. Open ACT
  2. Click on Menu Tools/dpQuickBooks Configure Quickbooks Push
