What you need prior to configuration.
  1. MS SQL Server or MS SQL Express instance
    - SQL 2008 Microsoft Download
    - SQL 2005 Microsoft Download
    - Do not use the ACT! instance of SQL
  2. SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
  3. MySQL Connector
    - ODBC 5.0
    - ODBC ODBC 3.0
What you need for installation.
  1. DataPlus
  2. Sage ACT! Premium

ODBC Connection for MySQL


    ODBC Data Source Administrator
  1. Open Data Sources (ODBC).
  2. Click on System DSN tab
    ODBC Data Source Administrator
  1. Click on Add
    Create New Data Source
  1. Scroll and choose MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver
  2. Click Finish
    Login Credentials
  1. Data Source Name MySQL
  2. Description: MySQL connection to Database
  3. TCP/IP Server 11.111.1.111 or your server IP Address
  4. Port 13540 This is the default port for MySQL
  5. Named Pipe: N/A
  6. User myusername administrator user name for MySQL database
  7. Password password administrator password name for MySQL database
  8. Database mydatabase
  9. Click Test
  10. Click Ok
  11. Click Ok
  12. You have successfully configured ODBC connection for MS SQL

MS SQL Linked Server to MySQL - Server Installation


    Open Connection
  1. Connect to MS SQL instance using SSMS
  2. Choose Server Objects
  3. Linked Server
  4. Right click Linked Server
  5. Choose New Linked Server
    New Linked Server
  1. Connect to MS SQL instance using SSMS
  2. Linked server: MYSQL
  3. Server Type: Other data source
  4. Provider: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers
  5. Product Name: MySQL
  6. Data source: MySQL
  7. Provider string:
  8. Location: n/a
  9. Catalog: mysqldatabase
  10. Click on OK
  11. Right click Linked Server
  12. Choose MySQLNew Linked Server
  13. Choose Test Connection

Installation, configuration, and connection to your Simply Accounting application is complete.
